A former lawyer overcomes burnout and stress by focusing on sustainable and healthy routines and increasing mental energy.
We live in a time when we can choose and pursue the kind of work we want to do and reach our highest potential. Sometimes–if we’re not mindful–this can lead to a stressful and single-minded pursuit of success, which can eventually create an unhealthy imbalance in our life.
Nik Poplavsky is a former lawyer who reinvented himself by overcoming burnout and stress, redefining success and focusing on healthier work and life routines.
I found myself chasing something that sort of made sense but did not really resonate with me. –Nik Poplavsky
As Nik began to see positive changes in his life from his new routines, he shared and talked about his experiences with other people.
Encouraged by people taking notice of his ideas, he created Balanced Hustle, a project and a resource focused on helping entrepreneurs create a sustainable daily routine and gain more mental energy.
Nik and I talked about an exchange program experience in Amsterdam that shifted his perspective on life and eventually led to him leaving his law career, why we cannot rely on self-discipline or willpower alone when making things happen, and how we can find balance while doing our hustle.
Hustle means doing something, taking action and moving forward. You don’t necessarily need to be overwhelmed to do that. Part of balance is [being] steady, [being] grounded, and not frantically chasing achievements. –Nik Poplavsky
